All good things come in threes: With the integration of PORESY, the ANKER Group advances to become an integrated provider of modern checkout and self-checkout systems for small retailers or large area markets.
March 2022
The ANKER Group acquires PORESY, implementation and service provider for POS systems, and thus expands its range of services to include software development, customizing, implementation and long-term support for POS systems, including 24/7 first and second level support. As the inventor of the modern Cash Cassette , Bielefeld-based ANKER has repeatedly been able to set new standards with hardware for the point of sale over the course of the company's 140-year history and is still the market leader in this segment in German-speaking food retailing. With the acquisition of the Berlin-based software company LocaFox in 2020, the long-established company supplemented its hardware portfolio with a cloud-based software solution for the retail sector that combines a checkout system, electronic cash book and merchandise management system. With the recent acquisition of PORESY, the ANKER Group is now advancing to become a holistic POS solution provider with software and hardware - from digital checkout systems for small and medium-sized retailers to innovative all-in-one and self-checkout systems and full-service implementations for retail groups.
True to the motto "everything from a single source", the group of companies is divided into three divisions: ANKER continues to offer a comprehensive hardware portfolio for the point of sale, ranging from cash drawers and cassettes to flexible mounting systems from batch sizes of 1 to thousands. LocaFox offers the checkout software of the same name for sole proprietorships and small and medium-sized retail businesses, while PORESY, an internationally active POS service provider with installations serviced worldwide, focuses on retail groups. ANKER is thus consistently taking the step from hardware expert to full-service provider with comprehensive POS solutions for customers of all sizes and, as a trio of experts, is facing up to the growing challenges of an increasingly digitalized market. Customers are already benefiting from an even more attractive product and service portfolio. For example, the PORESY customer base, which has grown over decades, will continue to be served by the 80 PORESY employees who have been transferred to the ANKER Group, and can also be assured of the expertise of their colleagues at the parent company. This also includes support for LS Retail products such as LS One and LS Central, as well as support for other selected third-party software.
Together with LocaFox and PORESY, ANKER focuses on the combination of modern hardware with innovative POS software and integration into existing IT infrastructures. With its comprehensive range of services, from roll-out to accompanying support from a single source, the Bielefeld-based company makes it easier for retailers of all sizes to modernize their POS systems. Because Dr. Fabian Schühle, Managing Partner of the ANKER Group, is certain that the future of the cash register is digital. "Germans love their cash, so cash boxes and drawers, as everyone knows them from shopping, are still with us. But the payment mix is playing an increasingly important role, not only in e-commerce, but also in retail. While flexibility in payment methods is the main focus for customers, small retailers and corporations alike are primarily looking at the benefits of digitized processes. Modern checkout systems are much more than just software to simplify payment. The dovetailing of systems in the areas of merchandise management, inventory and co. has long been accomplished, but will take on an even more present focus in the future. Accordingly, we are pleased not only to be equipped with our subsidiaries LocaFox and PORESY, but also to be an impulse generator for process chains at the POS in the future as a holistic POS system provider for hardware, software, integration and associated services."
