Over 140 years in Bielefeld and the world

A lot has happened since we started in 1876. We would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about our history and share some exciting times full of successes and challenges. Get to know us and follow how we have transformed from a traditional manufacturer of sewing machines to a modern, contemporary and holistic provider of innovative POS hardware and software solutions.

2022

After the Bielefeld-based ANKER Group has already positioned itself as an integrated provider of modern checkout and self-service systems for small retailers and large stores with the acquisition of PORESY Consulting GmbH and its own checkout software LocaFox, 2023 will be marked by a realignment: a single name, two divisions and the launch of an innovative software solution for the digitalization of all store processes.

2021

All good things come in threes: With the acquisition of PORESY, an implementation and service provider for POS systems, the ANKER Group is expanding its offering to include software development, customizing, implementation and long-term support for POS systems, including 24/7, first-, second- and third-level support.

2020

ANKER acquires the Berlin-based software company LocaFox GmbH. The cloud-based software solutions are primarily aimed at individual companies to small and medium-sized enterprises in the retail sector. This means that ANKER is returning to its roots as an integrated POS system provider for hardware and software.

2019

ANKER as a start-up company with 140 years of tradition has successfully re-established itself on the market 4 years after its re-founding and is now the market leader in German-speaking food retailing.

2015

With the help of German private investors, ANKER is spun off from the Oracle Group in 2015. The "ANKER Kassensysteme GmbH" is again an independent manufacturer of components for the point of sale.
